Books

Gewd evenin'. We decided to have books as our theme this time. We had plenty of ideas but weren't sure on how to execute it without taking too much time. William was going to have a kid sit high up in a tree on a plank he had built--but then it started to rain, wetting the book and leaving a shocked expression on the child's face OH NOEZ. Then he decided to just draw a girl floating up from a book. Both of us are really pleased at how the colors had come out. It's very pretty.
I decided to do a storybook page styled picture. I like the paper texture very much, and my idea had been built around it. I wanted to kind of spoof a children's book, and
Guess How Much I Love You, by Sam McBratney, was so cute that I had wanted to base it on that one. This is how the story went:

Little Nutbrown Hare, who was going to bed, held on tight to Big Nutbrown Hare's very long ears. He wanted to be sure that Big Nutbrown Hare was listening.

"Guess how much I love you," he said.

"Oh, I don't think I could guess that," said Big Nutbrown Hare.

"This much," said Little Nutbrown Hare, stretching out his arms as wide as they could go.

Big Nutbrown Hare had even longer arms. "But I love YOU this much," he said.

Hmm, that is a lot, thought Little Nutbrown Hare.

"I love you as high as I can reach." said Little Nutbrown Hare.

"I love you as high as I can reach," said Big Nutbrown Hare.

That is quite high, thought Little Nutbrown Hare. I wish I had arms like that.

Then Little Nutbrown Hare had a good idea. He tumbled upside down and reached up the tree trunk with his feet.

"I love you all the way up to my toes!" he said.

"And I love you all the way up to your toes," said Big Nutbrown Hare, swinging him up over his head.

"I love you as high as I can HOP!" laughed Little Nutbrown Hare, bouncing up and down.

"But I love you as high as I can hop," smiled Big Nutbrown Hare - and he hopped so high that his ears touched the branches above.

That's good hopping, thought Little Nutbrown Hare. I wish I could hop like that.

"I love you all the way down the lane as far as the river," cried Little Nutbrown Hare.

"I love you across the river and over the hills," said Big Nutbrown Hare.

That's very far, thought Little Nutbrown Hare. He was almost too sleepy to think any more. Then he looked beyond the thorn bushes, out into the big dark night. Nothing could be further than the sky.

"I love you right up to the MOON," he said, and closed his eyes.

"Oh, that's far," said Big Nutbrown Hare. "That is very, very far."

Big Nutbrown Hare settled Little Nutbrown Hare into his bed of leaves. He leaned over and kissed him good night.

Then he lay down close by and whispered with a smile, "I love you right up to the moon - AND BACK."

[End]

Isn't it wonderful? Anyways, that's it for today. Tomorrow's theme will probably be a silly one.

Fan Art

So tonight our theme was "fan art". This was mostly because I wanted to draw Tetra from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. So I did. Her hair is just so cool, I couldn't resist. Jessica decided to draw Hachi, from the manga/anime Nana, which she's been a fan of for a while. She said, "You know, I've never drawn anyone from that even though I usually draw characters I like." So she did? Ha ha.

That's all,

William

Characters!

GOOD EVENIN'. Tonight--characters! Actually, William couldn't think of what to do this time, so I picked out tonight's theme again. Harharhar. Both of us like the topic though, so get off my back. :C
Anyways, William and I have some characters we had designed ourselves; we thought it would be fun to draw each other's since our styles are so different (his being thin and pointy, mine soft and round). I picked out Lapin for him, which is the purple girl in the hat. I had used her in an animation project of mine during the 2008 spring semester at AIB. She's from the mountains. :>
In return, I drew Paveline, who is a girl in William's comic book. If you want to check it out, go take a look at www.para-ten.com ! I've drawn her a couple times already but there's yet to be one with a full body shot of her.. I kind of cheated, drawing her as a child from earlier in the comic. The garments are much simpler, but eh. I think it's cute.

I suck at fast painting. ( ; ,,;) My figure drawing professor knows it, William knows it, I know it. ;(
